Joiner Working Supervisor

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Joiner/ Working Supervisor to join our team, delivering refurbishment, maintenance and reactive works across care homes and other client properties.

This is a hands-on supervisory role. You will be responsible for carrying out joinery and general building works yourself, whilst supervising other trades and operatives on larger refurbishment projects.

Our work is predominantly within the care home sector, where professionalism good communication and high standard of workmanship are essential.

When refurbishment projects are not being undertaken, you will also be involved in quoted works and reactive maintenance, providing a varied workload across our client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

· Carry out high -quality joinery and general building works.

· Act as the working supervisor on refurbishment projects.

· Supervise and Coordinate operatives and subcontractors on site.

· Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

· Read and work from drawings, specifications and scope of work.

· Coordinate with clients, site contacts and other trades.

· Help plan and organise day to day site activities.

· Identify and report any issues additional works or variations.

· Complete snagging and ensure projects are finished to the required standard.

· Undertake quoted refurbishment and improvement works.

· Attend reactive maintenance jobs when required and diagnose issues before carrying out appropriate repairs this would only be when there is down times between projects starting and finishing.

· Maintain a professional relationship with clients and care home staff.

· Complete site paperwork, job sheets and other required documentation.

· Ensure company heath and safety procedures are followed at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone who is experienced, practical and confident working both independently an as part of a team.

You should have;

· Proven experience as a joiner.

· Previous experience supervising work or leading a tea.

· A good understanding of refurbishment and general building works.

· Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.

· Good communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with clients.

· The ability to work in occupied environments, particularly care homes.

· A flexible attitude towards both planned and reactive works.

· A full UK Driving licence.

· The ability to travel to sites and occasional working away.

· Be able to complete a DBS check.

· SSSTS or SMSTS

· The successful candidate will be required to participate in the company out of hours reactive maintenance on call rota. This will be on a 1-10 rota, providing on call cover approximately one in every 10.

· Relevant trade qualifications.
