Joiner/Carpenter

ORG Developments Limited is a growing regional building, refurbishment and maintenance company. We are looking for a time-served, multi-skilled Joiner to join our expanding team and work across a variety of projects throughout the North East.

The successful candidate will have strong joinery and carpentry experience, together with a practical, hands-on approach and the ability to undertake a range of general building and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricating and assembling wooden structures, fixtures and fittings to specification
• Carrying out general carpentry and joinery work
• Installing doors, windows, frames, skirting, architraves and cabinetry
• Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Completing joinery work accurately, ensuring components are correctly fitted and finished
• Assisting with roofing works, including repairs and maintenance
• Carrying out general building and maintenance duties as required
• Supporting painting and finishing works
• Assisting with basic plumbing, masonry and other general construction tasks where required
• Applying electrical knowledge and experience where appropriate and within relevant competencies
• Carrying out manual handling and heavy lifting when required
• Working from drawings, specifications and instructions
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with Health & Safety requirements

Essential Requirements

• Time-served Joiner / Carpenter with proven experience
• Valid CSCS Card
• Proven experience within carpentry and joinery
• Own tools
• Full UK driving licence
• Good communication skills
• Professional and well-presented manner
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements

Desirable Skills

Experience or knowledge in any of the following would be advantageous:

• Roofing
• General building and maintenance
• Painting and decorating
• Plumbing
• Masonry / brickwork
• Basic electrical work

These additional skills are advantageous but not essential, as the main requirement for the position is strong joinery and carpentry experience.
