Joinery Drafter – CabMaster Experience

About the role

HSY Joinery Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Joinery Drafter with CabMaster experience to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in Auburn, NSW 2144. As a Joinery Drafter, you will play a crucial role in translating design concepts and client specifications into precise technical drawings and documentation that guide our manufacturing and installation processes. Your expertise in CabMaster software will be essential in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and quality across our joinery projects. This position is vital to bridging the gap between design and production, directly impacting project timelines and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed and accurate joinery and cabinet drawings using CabMaster software
• Interpret design briefs, client specifications, and architectural plans to create comprehensive technical documentation
• Collaborate with designers, carpenters, and project managers to ensure drawings meet specifications and manufacturing requirements
• Manage revisions and updates to drawings in response to client feedback or design modifications
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and best practices in joinery and cabinet making
• Prepare cutting lists, material schedules, and other manufacturing documentation from finalised designs
• Communicate with clients and internal teams regarding design clarifications and technical requirements
• Maintain organised digital filing systems and project documentation
• Support the production team by providing clear, detailed drawings that minimise manufacturing errors

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated proficiency in CabMaster software with a strong portfolio of joinery and cabinet work
• Solid understanding of joinery principles, cabinet construction methods, and timber specifications
• Ability to read, interpret, and produce technical drawings to industry standards
• Proficiency in relevant CAD software or design tools; experience with AutoCAD or similar programs is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy in measurement and specification
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with designers, carpenters, and clients
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work through technical challenges
• Formal qualification in Drafting, Joinery, Cabinet Making, or related trades field is preferred
• Experience in the custom joinery or cabinet making industry is highly desirable
• Reliable, organised, and able to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines
