The Joinery Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily joinery workshop and site activities, ensuring that all carpentry and joinery works are completed according to approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The role involves managing manpower, monitoring production, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all joinery works.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily joinery works in the workshop and on-site.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, technical drawings, and project specifications.
• Allocate tasks to carpenters, joiners, installers, and other workshop personnel.
• Monitor the fabrication, assembly, installation, and finishing of joinery items, including doors, wardrobes, cabinets, kitchens, wall panels, and custom furniture.
• Ensure all joinery works comply with approved drawings, dimensions, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, draftsmen, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow.
• Monitor manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to achieve daily and weekly targets.
• Inspect finished products and installed works to identify and rectify defects.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Enforce health, safety, and housekeeping standards in the workshop and on-site.
• Report work progress, material shortages, technical issues, and delays to management.
• Ensure materials are used efficiently and wastage is minimized.
• Coordinate material requirements and ensure timely delivery of joinery items to site.
• Assist in resolving technical and installation issues during project execution.
• Maintain discipline, productivity, and teamwork among workers.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school certificate, technical diploma, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in carpentry and joinery works, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Experience in joinery workshop production and site installation.
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings and technical specifications.
• Good knowledge of woodworking materials, hardware, finishes, and joinery installation methods.
• Experience in manpower planning, work allocation, and quality control.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
