  • Setting out and manufacturing custom timber windows, doors and architectural joinery
  • Working with solid recycled Australian hardwoods
  • Operating a range of woodworking machinery, including saws, multi-head machines, spindle moulders, CNC routers and other workshop equipment
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately
  • Checking joinery throughout the manufacturing process and completing quality control before products leave the workshop
  • Identifying and resolving manufacturing issues before they become problems
  • Assisting with job planning, material requirements and workshop scheduling
  • Training and mentoring apprentices and less experienced team members
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
  • Ensuring machinery, tools and equipment are operated safely and maintained appropriately
  • Working closely with management, draftsmen and other members of the production team to keep projects moving

About you

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their trade and has the experience and confidence to lead a team.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A trade qualification in joinery, cabinet making, carpentry or a related trade
  • At least 5 years' experience in a professional joinery or woodworking environment
  • Strong experience working with solid timber and high-end architectural joinery
  • The ability to confidently read and understand detailed architectural and workshop drawings
  • Strong knowledge of traditional joinery methods and modern manufacturing techniques
  • Experience operating and setting up woodworking machinery
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of quality control
  • The ability to identify problems and work out practical solutions
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Previous experience supervising or leading other tradesmen or apprentices
  • A strong focus on safety and efficient workshop practices
  • A current driver's license
  • A current forklift license

Experience with CNC machinery, CAD/CAM, CNC programming or digital manufacturing would be highly regarded.

What we offer

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Competitive salary based on experience and skill level
  • Leadership role within an established and growing joinery business
  • Opportunity to work on high-end architectural timber projects
  • Work with quality hardwoods and specialised joinery
  • Modern machinery and workshop facilities
  • Opportunity to develop your leadership and technical skills
  • A supportive team environment
  • Stable and consistent workflow
  • The opportunity to have a genuine influence on workshop standards, production and team development
