We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable management pair to join us at The Circus Bar in Cheltenham and take on the day-to-day running of the pub together.

This is a great opportunity for a couple who enjoy working as a team, have a genuine passion for hospitality and want to help build on the success of a well-established local Bar.

We are particularly looking for a pair where at least one person has food experience or is food trained, as we continue to develop and grow our food offering.

The Role

As joint managers, you will work together to oversee the pub and ensure the day-to-day operation runs smoothly. You will both play an active role within the business, leading by example and creating a welcoming environment for both customers and staff.

The role will also include responsibility for a guest accommodation room listed through Booking.com, giving the successful couple the opportunity to develop experience in both pub and accommodation management.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Running the pub on a day-to-day basis as a management team
• Leading, supporting and developing the team
• Maintaining high standards of customer service
• Managing stock, ordering and general cellar/bar standards
• Monitoring sales and helping to drive the business forward
• Supporting the development and running of the food offering
• Managing the Booking.com guest room, including bookings, guest communication and ensuring the room is maintained to a high standard
• Managing guest check-ins and check-outs where required
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the accommodation
• Dealing with guest enquiries and reviews
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and licensing standards
• Taking responsibility for opening and closing procedures
• Ensuring the pub is clean, welcoming and well presented
• Dealing confidently with customers, suppliers and brewery representatives
• Managing rotas, staff performance and day-to-day staffing requirements
• Working together to maintain strong operational and financial standards

About You

We are looking for a pair who:

• Have previous hospitality or management experience
• Work well together and are comfortable sharing responsibility
• Are hands-on and happy to get involved in all areas of the pub
• Have a friendly and approachable personality
• Have good organisational and communication skills
• Take pride in standards and customer service
• Are confident leading a small team
• Are commercially aware and keen to help grow the business
• Have a flexible attitude and understand the demands of hospitality
• Are comfortable dealing with accommodation guests and online bookings

At least one member of the pair must have food experience or relevant food training. Experience running or developing a pub food operation would be an advantage.

Experience with Booking.com, holiday lets, guest accommodation or housekeeping would also be beneficial, although training can be provided.

We are continuing to develop the pub, including our food offering and guest accommodation, and are looking for the right couple to become an important part of the business and make the pub their own.
