Journey Programs Coordinator

We are looking for someone who has a fun and energetic personality to join our activities team!

Duties include:

• Playing games, making crafts, and doing simple exercises with residents.
• Building friendships and providing companionship to elderly.
• Inviting residents to attend activities and accompanying them to the activity.
• Helping to create and plan activities with the resident needs in mind.

Candidates must be able to:

• Multitask and quickly problem-solve.
• Work efficiently and be on time.
• Take direction and stay on task.
• Communicate well with coworkers and residents.
• Be creative and work hard.
• Be proactive in staying busy during down times.

Pay depends on experience and availability.

 Understand and conceptualize concepts as well as demonstrate ability to make decisions in stressful situations.

Be able to explain ideas and to communicate complex ideas to a wide audience (employees, residents, family members, governmental agencies, public, etc.), both in writing and verbally.

Be proficient in basic office equipment (including a personal computer) for the purpose of accomplishing and maintaining a high level of job performance.

Must be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job.

Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test result not more than 6 months prior or seven (7) days after employment.

Ability to show sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults.

Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families.

Well-lighted office with appropriate ventilation and temperature levels.

Ability to work in a secured area with heavy contact with a demented population.

Employee must pass a criminal record clearance prior to beginning work in the community.
