What they need

Idaho Journeyman Electrician

Problem Solved Electric

Problem Solved Electric is looking for a licensed Idaho Journeyman Electrician who takes pride in clean work, enjoys solving problems, and wants to be part of a growing electrical company in North Idaho.

This is a full time, Monday through Friday position. Saturdays may occasionally be available for someone who wants additional work, but they are not part of the normal schedule.

We provide a company vehicle. You must have a clean driving record, be comfortable pulling a trailer when needed, and hold an active Idaho Journeyman Electrician license.

What We Do

We perform a wide variety of residential electrical service and installation work throughout North Idaho. This is a good position for someone who likes variety and does not want to spend every day doing the same installation.

Our work includes:

  • Electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Panel replacements and service upgrades
  • Meter and service equipment
  • Generators and transfer equipment
  • EV chargers
  • Hot tubs, spas, and pool electrical
  • New circuits and receptacles
  • Lighting and ceiling fans
  • Remodel electrical
  • Residential new construction
  • Electrical inspections and corrections
  • Underground electrical
  • Shops, garages, and outbuildings
  • Grounding and bonding corrections

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for completing residential electrical projects safely, efficiently, and professionally from start to finish.

We’re looking for someone who can walk into a residential service call, figure out what is happening, develop a solution, and complete quality work without needing someone looking over their shoulder all day.

You should be comfortable troubleshooting electrical problems, installing and repairing residential electrical systems, reading plans when necessary, working with electrical panels and services, communicating with customers, and completing work to current NEC and Idaho requirements.

You’ll also work with and supervise apprentices when assigned to you. We expect our journeymen to help apprentices develop good habits while making sure work performed under their supervision is safe and professional.

Compensation

Our compensation structure combines base hourly pay with performance based bonus opportunities.

Journeyman compensation starts with a base hourly rate, with additional performance compensation available based on clearly defined standards.

Performance incentives may include:

  • Customer satisfaction and reviews
  • Quality workmanship and avoiding preventable inspection callbacks
  • Complete required job paperwork and documentation

Your actual compensation structure will be discussed with you based on your licensing, experience, responsibilities, and qualifications.

We want strong electricians to have an opportunity to earn more when they consistently perform at a high level.

What We’re Looking For

  • Active Idaho Journeyman Electrician license
  • Strong residential electrical experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting ability
  • Solid NEC knowledge
  • Experience with panels and electrical services
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass applicable background screening
  • Comfortable driving a company vehicle and pulling a trailer
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to supervise and teach apprentices
  • Professional communication with customers
  • Good documentation habits
  • Ability to take required job photos and videos
  • Reliable attendance and communication
  • Someone who takes ownership of their work and does not need to be micromanaged

What We Provide

  • Full time Monday through Friday schedule
  • Occasional Saturday work available if desired
  • Company vehicle
  • Base pay plus performance bonus opportunities
  • Variety of residential electrical work
  • Opportunity to work with and develop apprentices
  • Growing company with opportunities for additional responsibility
  • A team that values quality work, efficiency, communication, and customer service

We’re not looking for someone who simply wants to clock in and get through the day. We’re looking for a journeyman who enjoys the trade, takes pride in what they install, can solve problems in the field, and wants their effort to be recognized.

If that sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you.
