Journeyman Electrician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic electrical team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across commercial and industrial settings. Duties

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage circuits.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts.
• Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and electrical safety procedures.
• Conduct high-voltage electrical wiring projects safely on construction sites or renovation projects while adhering to strict safety standards.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete wiring tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical systems in industrial environments, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial electrical systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within scope.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, inspections completed, and repairs made for compliance and record-keeping purposes.

Skills

• Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong background in electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical systems, high-voltage wiring, low-voltage systems, and electrical blueprint reading.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards), NEC regulations, and local electrical codes.
• Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, blueprints, and electrical blueprints accurately.
• Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers; power tools including drills; testing equipment like voltmeters and ohmmeters.
• Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects with a focus on safety procedures related to high-voltage electricity.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex electrical issues involving industrial equipment or commercial systems.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation processes within industrial environments.
• Ability to interpret technical schematics and perform precise electrical wiring tasks according to specifications.
• Excellent understanding of electrical safety procedures to prevent hazards during installation or repair work.
• Capable of reading electrical schematics and blueprints with confidence; experience with schematic software is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with framing carpentry or handyman skills is beneficial for versatile project support.
