Journeyman Electrician

Z Electric is a family-owned and team-oriented business with a lot of upcoming opportunities to grow within the company. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated LICENSED Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both low and high voltage electrical systems, with a strong understanding of residential, industrial and commercial electrical work. This role requires proficiency in blueprint reading, the use of power tools, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively. As a Journeyperson Electrician at Z Electric you will be running your own van with an apprentice and you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of electrical systems across various construction sites. We focus 40% on commercial and 60% on high end residential.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in compliance with local codes and regulations.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to determine layout of electrical systems.
• Utilize voltmeters and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Work with low voltage and high voltage systems as required by project specifications.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently while adhering to industry standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions.
• Provide guidance and support to apprentices or less experienced electricians when necessary.

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyperson Electrician license or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage and high voltage applications.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical specifications.
• Familiarity with power tools and safety practices on construction sites.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Previous experience as a maintenance person is a plus but not required.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
