· High school diploma or GED, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

· Five or more years of heavy industrial fabrication experience; shipbuilding experience is preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to independently perform layout, fit-up, assembly, and dimensional verification of complex fabrications.

· Ability to safely operate applicable fabrication equipment, overhead cranes, and rigging.

· Ability to read and follow written and verbal work instructions, safety requirements, and company procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Advanced blueprint interpretation, structural layout, measurement, and dimensional-control skills.

· Working knowledge of fabrication sequencing, weld preparation, distortion control, and constructability.

· Ability to recognize problems, communicate them clearly, and develop practical solutions.

· Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with supervisors, welders, quality personnel, and other trades.

· Consistent attention to craftsmanship, productivity, material stewardship, and schedule commitments.
