Jr Chemist

Summary Conduct physicochemical analyses of petroleum products, chemicals, and crude oil following industry standards and guidelines

Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze research results and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of laboratory tests, inventories and equipment.
• Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment including calibration as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory environment.
• Participate in proficiency testing programs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Authorize research results and ensure data integrity.
• Manage laboratory operations during assigned shifts.
• Provide training to new laboratory recruits when required.
• Continuously update knowledge and skills within the field.
• To always respect and protect company and client confidentiality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to operational excellence.
• Follow all company instructions and procedures such as Saybolt: Administration and Operational Instructions Letter, Compliance Code, HSE Procedures, Quality Manual, Ethics Policy and all instructions accordingly.

Qualifications

• Ordinary level standard qualifications, science subjects will be regarded as an asset.
• Experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the petroleum or chemical industry will be considered an asset.
• Experience with equipment operation and maintenance will be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of English (minimum C1).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Holds a valid European driving licence and has own transport.
