We have an immediate opening for a Stress Engineer at our aerospace location in Chula Vista, CA . The primary function of this position is to perform structural analysis of in-service aircraft nacelle allowable damages and repairs.

What You Will Do

• Utilize hand calculations, Finite Element Analysis and other tools to perform structural stress substantiation.
• Provide technical recommendations to repair engineers and report-writing skills to thoroughly document analysis methodology, assumptions, and results.
• Ability to work with others, train up-and-coming engineers, and review their work.
• Realize opportunities for continuous improvement and find ways to implement solutions.

**What You Will Bring**

• BS degree in Mechanical, Structural or similar Aerospace Engineering.
• 2-3 years of experience in Structural Analysis or Stress Engineering, including any College Internship.
• Experience in analysis of composite laminate and metallic components, preferably in aerospace structures.
• Knowledge and familiarity with allowable damages and repairs associated with metallics and composites, preferable of aircraft structures.
• Proficient with FEA tools, preferably MSC NASTRAN / PATRAN.
• Proficient with math and data software, e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, Mathcad.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $80,000

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan. Work Requirements This role is considered an on-site position located in Chula Vista, California

• You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
• Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
