What the job involves
- This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional who wants to build a strong foundation in accounting through hands-on experience in an international business environment
- Accounts Payable will be a key focus of the role, with responsibility for supporting an accurate and efficient end-to-end AP process
- At the same time, the Junior Accountant will gain broader accounting experience by supporting month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, bank accounting, general ledger activities, and other finance processes

- Accounts Payable:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, including coding invoices to the appropriate GL accounts, cost centers and departments
- Review invoices against purchase orders and resolve PO and invoice discrepancies together with Procurement, Operations and other internal stakeholders
- Prepare and process vendor payment batches in accordance with company approval procedures
- Act as a point of contact for vendors regarding invoices, payments, reconciliations and disputes
- Review AP balances and proactively investigate mismatches, outstanding items, refunds, credits and adjustments
- Maintain accurate vendor master data and support the vendor creation and change process in the ERP system
- Support the reconciliation of the AP subledger to the general ledger
- Help ensure invoices and payments are processed in accordance with internal controls and company policies
- Accounting & Month-End Close:
- Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process
- Prepare selected balance sheet reconciliations under the guidance of the Accounting Manager
- Assist with bank reconciliations and the recording and clearing of bank transactions
- Support month-end accruals and other recurring journal entries
- Assist with the reconciliation and analysis of Goods Received / Items Received Not Billed and other AP-related balance sheet accounts
- Investigate accounting differences and follow up on outstanding reconciling items
- Support the preparation of schedules and documentation for internal and external audit requests
- Gain exposure to general ledger accounting and gradually take ownership of additional accounting activities as experience develops
- Systems & Process Improvement:
- Work primarily in NetSuite and other finance systems to maintain accurate accounting records
- Identify opportunities to improve and simplify AP and accounting processes
- Support improvements in financial workflows, controls and documentation
- Collaborate with the EMEA and US Finance teams to develop consistent and efficient accounting processes
- Participate in finance projects and other accounting activities based on business needs and individual development
- This role is designed to provide a strong starting point for a career in accounting. You will gain hands-on experience across the accounting cycle while taking real responsibility within the EMEA Finance team
- You will have the opportunity to:
- Build strong practical knowledge of Accounts Payable and general accounting
- Learn how month-end and quarter-end financial close processes work in practice
- Develop experience with balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and general ledger accounting
