Junior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join the accounting team at SCM Energy Services Ltd. This is a full-time position based in Huai Khwang, Bangkok. As a Junior Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting expertise within a growing energy services organisation whilst working alongside experienced professionals.

What you'll be doing

• Processing and recording financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and payments
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation
• Supporting the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Assisting with employee expense reimbursements
• Conducting basic financial analysis and variance reporting
• Supporting external audits and providing required financial documentation
• Performing general administrative duties related to accounting operations
• Collaborating with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies

What we're looking for

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices relevant to the accounting industry with at least 3 years of accounting experience, specifically including General Ledger (GL) reconciliation and adjusting entries.
• Proficiency in Express accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English
• A professional approach and commitment to confidentiality of financial information
• Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively to a team environment
• Prior experience in an accounting role or internship is preferred but not essential
