Junior Accountant

The selected candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager and will gain practical exposure to the financial operations of a multi-branch restaurant and cloud-kitchen business.

You will have the opportunity to understand how accounting, purchasing, inventory-related costs, food costs, cash flow, cost control and profitability work together in a real-world restaurant environment.

This position is particularly suitable for someone who wants to learn, take responsibility, develop professionally and grow into a higher-level finance role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Accounting & Data Entry

• Perform daily accounting data entry for sales and petty cash transactions from all branches.
• Record and maintain daily financial transactions accurately and systematically.
• Review branch submissions and supporting documents.
• Identify missing information, incorrect entries and unusual transactions.
• Follow up with branches to clarify and correct discrepancies.

2. Sales & Cash Monitoring

• Monitor daily sales reports from all branches.
• Check sales records against supporting reports and available payment records.
• Monitor petty cash transactions and ensure proper documentation.
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate with branch personnel for corrections.
• Assist with cash flow monitoring and reporting.

3. Purchase & Cost Control

• Record and monitor purchase transactions.
• Review purchase prices and monitor changes in supplier pricing.
• Assist in monitoring food and operational costs.
• Identify unusual increases in costs and report them to the Finance Manager.
• Assist in implementing cost-control procedures.
• Support management in identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary expenses.

4. Food Cost Calculation & Monitoring

• Assist in calculating and monitoring food costs.
• Analyze purchase and consumption-related information.
• Help identify factors affecting food cost percentages.
• Prepare food-cost-related reports for management review.
• Assist the Finance Manager in improving cost efficiency and profitability.

5. Document Control & Management

• Maintain proper accounting and financial documentation.
• Organize invoices, receipts, purchase documents, petty cash documents and other supporting records.
• Ensure documents are complete, properly recorded and easily accessible.
• Assist in maintaining an organized accounting filing system.

6. Monthly Closing

• Assist with monthly accounting closing procedures.
• Review outstanding transactions and identify missing entries.
• Assist in reconciling branch-level financial information.
• Support preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Ensure relevant transactions are properly recorded before monthly closing.

7. Supporting the Finance Manager

• Prepare regular reports and summaries as required by the Finance Manager.
• Provide accurate financial information for management decision-making.
• Assist in analyzing revenue, expenses, purchases, food costs and profitability.
• Highlight discrepancies, unusual expenses and potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Work closely with the Finance Manager on day-to-day financial management.
• Assist in improving accounting processes and internal controls.
• Support initiatives aimed at reducing costs and improving profitability.
• Perform other finance and accounting tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
• Fresh graduates/freshers are also welcome to apply.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong computer and data-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and follow up until they are resolved.
• Willingness to learn and take responsibility.

Added Advantage:

• Hands-on experience with prominent accounting softwares.
• Experience in restaurant, cafeteria, cloud kitchen, retail or other multi-branch businesses.
• Knowledge of inventory, food costing, purchasing or cost control.
• Experience working with large Excel-based financial records.
• Ability to use AI tools effectively to improve accounting, reporting, data analysis and day-to-day productivity.
