IE & Associates Chartered Accountants (SA) is a Durban-based accounting and tax advisory practice serving small and medium enterprises with bookkeeping, tax, payroll, and compliance support. We are a modern, AI-augmented practice looking for a motivated accountant to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

The following is for MULTIPLE CLIENTS and previous accounting practise experience dealing with multiple clients is MANDATORY:

• Process and capture day-to-day bookkeeping transactions on Xero - MANDATORY
• Reconcile bank accounts, debtors, and creditors on a regular basis
• Process monthly payroll using SimplePay
• Manage debtors and creditors accounts, including invoicing and payment allocations
• Assist with preparation of management accounts and basic financial reports
• Support with SARS-related submissions and compliance documentation
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records and filing systems
• Liaise professionally with clients to obtain supporting documentation and clarify queries
• Requirements
• Relevant accounting qualification (Diploma/Degree in Accounting or studying towards one) or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of Xero (essential)
• Working knowledge of SimplePay (advantageous)
• Debtors, creditors, and bank reconciliations for small entities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic tax and VAT knowledge
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Own reliable transport (advantageous)
• Willingness to learn and grow within a small, fast-paced SME environment
