Junior Accountant

Position Title: Junior Accountant

Position Summary:

The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting the tax team with income tax preparation and review, bookkeeping, preparation of payroll tax and sales tax filings, and other duties as assigned. We are looking for someone to join our team that works well both as a part of a team and individually.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Tax return source document entry

· Bookkeeping in QuickBooks

· Maintenance of depreciation schedules

· Scanning to document management system

· Assembling tax returns

· Creating and maintaining spreadsheets

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Minimum associates degree or 2 years’ related experience

· Experience using and creating spreadsheets and formulas.

· Strong computer skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office products and accounting software.

· General tax and accounting knowledge

· Analytical and problem solving skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and multi-task.

· Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.

Expected Work Hours:

· 40 hours per week year-round during normal business hours with some flexibility

· Tax Season (January through April 15): May expect to work an additional 10-20 hours per week of overtime as required by the workload during our open office hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

· Off-Season (June through September): hours may be reduced to 32 hours per week using PTO or unpaid time off.

Pay: $49,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
