Junior Accountant

Position Summary:

The Junior Accountant will assist in managing the daily financial tasks; and assist the senior accounting staff to keep company financial records accurate and up to date.

Duties Include:

• Perform daily and monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations to find and fix errors.
• Record financial transactions accurately in accounting software under supervision.
• Assist senior staff with closing out the month or quarter and gathering documents for internal or external audits.
• Assist in preparing balance sheets, income statements, and basic expense reports.
• Reconcile petty cash accounts and bank statements in a prescribed timely manner.
• Performs other accounting duties as required.

Education / Experience

• Minimum education an Associate's Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field. (Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required).
• Experience 1 to 2 years of general accounting or internship experience.
• Strong proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting tools like QuickBooks, SAGE or equivalent.
• High attention to detail, strong basic math skills, and the ability to keep sensitive financial data private.
