Junior Accountant

JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Location: Epping, Cape Town

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with processing bank transactions, petty cash, sales invoices and purchase invoices.

• Support bank and petty cash reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

• Assist with foreign bank and petty cash revaluations.

• Help with matching and reconciling supplier accounts and other balance sheet accounts.

• Assist with maintaining the fixed asset register and calculating depreciation.

• Support the preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet items, including net pay and income tax accounts.

• Assist with income statement adjustments in line with internal company policies.

• Support the preparation of accruals and prepayments.

• Conduct general ledger investigations and assist with resolving discrepancies.

• Assist with ad hoc administrative tasks, including filing, copying invoices, updating Excel records and other duties as required.

Training & Development

• Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure a thorough understanding of the company’s in-house accounting system.

• Initially, the focus will be on training and documentation processing.
