Junior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join the accounting team at Legalese. This is a full-time position based in Bangkok, offering an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to develop their skills within a professional services environment. As a Junior Accountant, you will support the financial operations of the organisation whilst gaining valuable hands-on experience across various accounting functions. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and reconciliation of financial statements and general ledger accounts
• Processing and coding invoices, expense claims and financial transactions
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
• Supporting the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including payment processing and invoice management
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Preparing routine financial reports and analysis for management review
• Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding financial matters
• Supporting the preparation of tax documentation and compliance filings under supervision
• Identifying and assisting in the resolution of discrepancies and reconciliation issues
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures

What we're looking for

• A qualification in accounting
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software packages
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy when working with financial data
• Sound understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to priorities multiple tasks
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
• Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently where required
• Familiarity with Thai accounting regulations and tax requirements would be advantageous
• Able to effectively communicate in both Thai and English
