Junior Accountant

Job Summary

Star Polymers is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our Accounts & Finance team. The ideal candidate should have 1–2 years of practical experience in accounting, taxation, bank reconciliation, and statutory compliance. Candidates with experience in a manufacturing environment will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day accounting transactions and financial records.
• Assist in GST accounting, reconciliation, and preparation of GST returns.
• Handle TDS calculations, deductions, accounting, and related compliance.
• Prepare Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in payroll accounting and statutory deductions, including PF, ESI, and TDS.
• Verify vendor invoices, purchase bills, and supporting documents.
• Maintain vendor ledgers and perform account reconciliations.
• Assist in monthly and annual financial closing activities.
• Support statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits by providing necessary records and documents.
• Review accounting entries, identify discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned accounting tasks and statutory documentation.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or an equivalent qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting.
• Practical knowledge of GST, TDS, bank reconciliation, and basic statutory compliance.
• Working knowledge of accounting software such as Tally ERP/Tally Prime; ERP experience will be an advantage.
• Good MS Excel skills and numerical accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently on routine tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Candidates with experience in manufacturing, trading, or a similar industry will be preferred.
• Candidates with practical exposure to purchase accounting, vendor reconciliation, and inventory-related accounting will have an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
