JOB DESCRIPTION – JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Title: Junior Accountant
Department: Accounts & Finance
Reporting To: Senior Accountant / Accounts Manager

Salary:- 15,000-20,000

1. Job Summary:-

VTR Industries is looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Junior Accountant to support the Accounts & Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate should have basic accounting knowledge, good numerical skills, and proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.

2. Key Responsibilities:-

• Maintain daily accounting records, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
• Record and verify invoices, bills, vouchers, and other financial documents.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining ledgers, cash books, and bank books.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
• Perform bank reconciliation and resolve basic discrepancies.
• Assist in GST-related documentation, data entry, and return preparation.
• Maintain proper records of vendor bills, customer payments, and outstanding balances.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
• Assist with petty cash management and expense tracking.
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding invoices, payments, and supporting documents.
• Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial records for audit purposes.
• Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned by the reporting manager.

3. Educational Qualifications:-

• B.Com or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• Freshers may apply; candidates with relevant accounting experience will be preferred.

4. Required Skills:-

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
• Working knowledge of Tally Prime or other accounting software.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Basic understanding of GST and TDS procedures.
• Good numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.

5. Experience:-

• 0–1 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial organization will be an added advantage.

6. Key Performance Expectations:-

• Accuracy and timely completion of accounting entries.
• Proper maintenance of financial documents and records.
• Timely reconciliation of accounts and identification of discrepancies.
• Compliance with internal accounting procedures and applicable statutory requirements.
• Timely submission of reports and completion of assigned tasks.

7. Working Conditions:-

The candidate will work in the Accounts & Finance Department and coordinate with other departments as required to ensure smooth financial and administrative operations.
