Junior Accountant

About the role

Ecological Energy Technologies Inc. is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our accounting team in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional to develop their accounting expertise while contributing to the financial health of our growing organisation. As a Junior Accountant, you will work under the guidance of senior accounting staff, handling day-to-day financial transactions and supporting the preparation of accurate financial records. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our financial data and supporting informed business decision-making across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Recording and processing financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers in the accounting system
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice verification and payment processing
• Preparing bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies for resolution
• Supporting the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports
• Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation
• Assisting with general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations
• Supporting the audit process by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
• Performing data entry and administrative tasks related to financial operations
• Assisting with expense tracking and cost allocation across departments
• Supporting the preparation of tax documentation and compliance schedules

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent qualification
• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices, including the double-entry bookkeeping system
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms is advantageous
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
• Solid understanding of financial statements and basic financial analysis
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Reliability and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
• Knowledge of basic tax compliance and regulatory requirements is preferred
• Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or enrolment in professional accounting bodies is a plus
