Junior Accountant

Position: Junior Accountant

Location: Port Elizabeth

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Financial Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years' accounting or finance experience
• Experience with bank reconciliations, creditors, debtors, and general ledger processing
• Experience with monthly management accounts
• Understanding of statutory requirements regarding payroll
• Experience using accounting software such as Sage Evolution, Sage Pastel, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Capture and maintain accurate financial data in the accounting system
• Prepare and process journal entries
• Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Preparation of management accounts and financial reports
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements
• Assist with VAT calculations and submissions
