Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Supermarket Accountant to manage daily accounting operations, monitor branch transactions, and ensure accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain daily sales, purchase, receipt, and payment records.
• Reconcile cash, card, and other payment transactions.
• Verify daily branch sales reports and cash deposits.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile supplier statements, invoices, and credit notes.
• Check purchase invoices, GRNs, and stock-related transactions.
• Monitor inventory adjustments, stock variances, wastage, and expiry-related losses.
• Assist with monthly closing and financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documents.
• Coordinate with branch in-charges, purchasing, and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting procedures and internal controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience; supermarket or retail experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel.
• Good understanding of sales reconciliation, supplier accounts, and inventory accounting.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills .
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
