Junior Accounts Payable Associate

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accounts Payable Associate to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and managing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately using various financial systems such as Workday, SAP, or similar platforms, ensuring adherence to company policies and deadlines.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions with the general ledger, verifying debits and credits for consistency and accuracy.
• Assist in accounts payable automation initiatives to streamline invoice processing and improve efficiency.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry and record keeping with precision.
• Support month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries related to accounts payable and assisting with account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements during all financial processes.
• Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and auditors to resolve discrepancies and provide timely responses to inquiries.

Skills

• Strong understanding of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems; experience with Workday or ADP is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to perform Excel data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and pivot tables for reporting purposes.
• Knowledge of accounts payable processes including invoice processing, account reconciliation, and payment scheduling.
• Familiarity with financial compliance standards such as SOX regulations and GAAP guidelines.
• Experience working with accounting systems like Ceridian, Kronos, UltiPro or HRIS platforms for payroll or employee data management is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with strong analysis skills to identify discrepancies or errors promptly.

Pay: $26.17 - $38.52 per hour
