The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the business, ensuring administrative processes are completed accurately, reports are issued on time and colleagues across Finance, Commercial and Purchasing receive the support they need.

We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills, good numerical ability and an interest in working with data and spreadsheets. Just as importantly, we want someone who is keen to learn, develop new skills and build their experience within a

supportive working environment.

Previous experience is beneficial but not essential. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and attention to detail are key.

Key responsibilities

Administration and document management

  • Maintain organised electronic and hard-copy filing systems.
  • Ensure documents/records are filed accurately and can be retrieved when required.
  • Undertake general filing, document management and other routine administrative duties.
  • Provide administrative support to the Finance team and wider business as required.

Reception and communications

  • Maintain reception and provide switchboard cover for incoming telephone calls.
  • Answer calls professionally, direct enquiries to the appropriate department or colleague, and take messages where necessary.
  • Help ensure visitors and callers receive a professional and helpful first impression of the business.

Reporting and data management

  • Prepare and issue scheduled weekly reports and business movement trackers.
  • Maintain accurate spreadsheets and ensure reporting information is updated in a timely manner.
  • Assist with data entry, checking information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Support the maintenance and organisation of business information used by Finance and other departments.

Finance systems and business support

  • Provide administrative support for finance systems and related processes.
  • Assist the Finance team with routine administrative tasks and information requests.
  • Support colleagues across Finance, Commercial and Purchasing with reporting, documentation and general administrative requirements.
  • Help maintain efficient processes and accurate records across the business.

General responsibilities

  • Undertake ad hoc administrative tasks as required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
  • Follow established procedures and maintain appropriate confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate initiative, a willingness to learn and a proactive approach to work.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and develop skills as experience grows.

About you

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Highly organised, with good time-management and prioritisation skills.
  • Analytical, with an interest in working with information, figures and data.
  • Numerically confident, with good mathematical ability.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, or keen to develop their spreadsheet skills.
  • Accurate and attentive to detail.
  • A confident and professional communicator, comfortable dealing with telephone enquiries.
  • Proactive, dependable and willing to support colleagues across the business.
  • Keen to learn, develop and take advantage of opportunities for progression.

Experience and qualifications

Previous administration experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel would be advantageous but are not essential.

Candidates with relevant school, college or vocational qualifications, or those looking for their first opportunity in a business environment, are encouraged to apply.

The most important qualities are a willingness to learn, good organisational skills, numerical aptitude and an interest in developing within the business.

What we offer

  • A supportive environment with training and guidance from experienced colleagues.
