What they need
Junior Administrator – E-commerce Operations
Location: Capricorn Business Park, Muizenberg, Cape Town
Employment: Full-time, permanent, office-based
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00
Gross salary: R10,000 per month for the first three months. This increases to R12,000 per month after the three-month probation review if you meet the agreed performance standards and can handle the role's routine duties independently. The increase is conditional on demonstrated competence, rather than time served alone.
Start: As soon as possible; please state your notice period and earliest available date.
ABOUT THE ROLE
H2O Warehouse is a South African online retailer of water filtration, pumps, irrigation and related products. We are looking for a capable, organised administrator who enjoys working with customers, orders and business software.
This is a junior role with structured training in our products and processes. You must already be a confident computer user who can work accurately across several browser tabs, dashboards and applications. Basic computer literacy alone will not be sufficient.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Process and update online orders, quotations and supporting documents.
Respond professionally to customers by email, telephone and WhatsApp.
Follow up on supplier stock, pricing, purchase orders and collection arrangements.
Arrange courier bookings, monitor deliveries and keep customers informed.
Check customer, product, invoice and order information across systems; identify and escalate discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records, attachments, follow-up lists and task statuses.
Learn our product range and use approved information to answer routine enquiries, escalating technical questions when needed.
Support the senior operations administrator and follow tasks through to completion.
WHAT YOU NEED
Matric or equivalent.
Strong practical computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, file management, browser-based software and online searches.
Confidence navigating several systems while keeping records and order references accurate.
Clear written and spoken English, professional customer communication and good numerical accuracy.
Ability to learn unfamiliar software and product information quickly, follow documented processes and ask useful questions.
Reliability, attention to detail and ownership of outstanding tasks.
Ability to work in person at Capricorn Business Park, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.
Legal entitlement to work in South Africa.
Administration, customer service or online retail experience is advantageous. Experience with Shopify, Cin7 Core, Xero, courier portals or comparable systems is helpful; experience in every named platform is not required. Strong candidates early in their careers who can demonstrate the required systems skills are welcome.
HOW WE SELECT
Shortlisted candidates will complete a short, supervised practical exercise using fictional orders and customer enquiries. This assesses accuracy, system navigation, prioritisation, written communication and ability to learn a new process. Training and clear performance expectations will be provided.
APPLY
Apply through Indeed with your CV and a short introduction. Include the software you have used, examples of the tasks you completed, your notice period, earliest starting date, and confirmation that the location, hours and salary structure suit you.
Applications will be reviewed as received until the position is filled. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Please do not telephone the office about applications.
Pay: R10 000,00 - R12 000,00 per month
