The Role

Customer Due Diligence & Onboarding

  • Perform customer identification and verification procedures in accordance with the Firm’s policies and procedures.
  • Collect, review and maintain customer due diligence (“CDD”) documentation and information.
  • Conduct sanctions, politically exposed person (“PEP”) and adverse media screening.
  • Assist in the review and assessment of source of funds and source of wealth information and supporting documentation, where required, escalating any inconsistencies or concerns as appropriate.
  • Assist with the preparation and completion of customer risk assessments.
  • Verify that required documentation and information has been obtained and appropriately recorded.
  • Identify missing, inconsistent or potentially concerning information and escalate appropriately.
  • Assist with periodic and trigger-event reviews of existing customer relationships.
  • Follow up on outstanding CDD requirements and remediation items.

Ongoing Monitoring

  • Assist with ongoing monitoring of customer relationships and activity.
  • Review alerts and information requiring further investigation in accordance with established procedures.

AML/CFT Screening

  • Conduct initial and ongoing sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening.
  • Review potential screening matches and gather information necessary to support their assessment.
  • Escalate potential true matches or matters requiring further consideration.
  • Maintain appropriate evidence and records of screening activity.

Record Keeping & Administration

  • Maintain complete, accurate and appropriately organised AML/CFT records and case files.
  • Update relevant AML/CFT systems, trackers and databases.
  • Assist with the preparation of internal AML/CFT reports and management information.
  • Support remediation exercises and other AML/CFT projects as required.
  • Ensure assigned activities are completed within required timeframes.

Regulatory & Policy Compliance

  • Perform duties in accordance with applicable AML/CFT requirements and the Firm’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete required AML/CFT and compliance training.
  • Actively develop technical knowledge of AML/CFT and financial crime risks.

Requirements & Skills

The preferred candidate for this role should possess:

  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • High standards of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
