About PawnMate

PawnMate develops cloud software that helps pawnshops manage loans, purchases, retail sales, inventory, payments, and reporting.

We’re looking for a Junior Application Support Developer who enjoys solving technical problems and helping customers. You’ll answer support tickets, investigate database and reporting issues, and work with our development team to identify and resolve software problems.

This is primarily a hands-on technical support role, with opportunities to contribute to bug fixes, testing, and internal tools as your skills develop.

What You’ll Do

• Respond to customer support tickets with clear explanations and timely updates.
• Investigate issues involving transactions, inventory, customer records, reports, and integrations.
• Write SQL queries to trace records, compare results, and identify data discrepancies.
• Reproduce reported problems and document your findings for the development team.
• Use application logs and browser developer tools to investigate errors.
• Determine whether an issue relates to software, data, configuration, or user training.
• Perform approved data corrections following established procedures and review requirements.
• Assist with small code changes, bug fixes, and testing.
• Document solutions and follow tickets through to resolution.

What We’re Looking For

• Working knowledge of SQL, including joins, filtering, and aggregations.
• An understanding of relational databases and how records connect.
• Foundational programming skills gained through work, school, internships, or personal projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an organized approach to troubleshooting.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail when working with customer data and financial transactions.
• A willingness to learn, ask questions, and take ownership of customer issues.

Recent graduates and candidates with relevant practical experience are encouraged to apply. You do not need to be an expert developer, but you should be comfortable investigating technical problems and explaining what you find.

Helpful, but Not Required

• Experience supporting SaaS or point-of-sale software.
• Familiarity with Git, APIs, JSON, application logs, or browser developer tools.
• Experience with data imports, migrations, or reporting.
• Knowledge of retail, inventory, payment, or accounting workflows.
