What they need
Overview
The Døre Bar & Grill is a well-established neighbourhood restaurant in Sheffield and part of The Northern Collective — an independent hospitality, retail and leisure group operating across the Peak District and South Sheffield.
Our growing group includes restaurants, bakeries and retail-led food concepts, all built around a commitment to quality, consistency, excellent customer experiences and developing talented people.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Junior Assistant Manager to join our front-of-house team.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who already has hospitality and supervisory experience and is ready to take the next step into restaurant management.
Working closely with the General Manager and senior management team, you will take responsibility for leading the front-of-house team during service, supporting the day-to-day running of the restaurant and ensuring consistently high standards across the business.
Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you will receive ongoing training and development designed to build your management skills and give you greater responsibility as you progress.
For the right person, this role provides a clear development pathway towards becoming an Assistant General Manager, with further opportunities available across The Northern Collective as the group continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising the front-of-house team during service
- Taking responsibility for the smooth running of shifts
- Opening and closing the restaurant and completing relevant procedures
- Maintaining high standards of customer service and overall guest experience
- Supporting the training, development and onboarding of team members

- Handling guest queries, feedback and complaints professionally
- Ensuring health & safety, licensing and company procedures are followed
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and organisation
- Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the restaurant
- Developing an understanding of the wider management responsibilities involved in operating the restaurant
- Helping maintain a positive, professional and well-organised working environment
- Leading by example and helping maintain high standards across the team
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous hospitality experience, ideally within a supervisory or team-leader position
- Is ready to progress beyond a traditional supervisor role and develop into management
- Is confident leading, motivating and organising a team
- Remains calm, organised and professional during busy services
- Has a genuine focus on providing excellent customer service
- Communicates clearly and confidently with both guests and colleagues
- Has strong organisational skills and can manage multiple priorities effectively
- Is comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions during service
- Leads by example and takes pride in maintaining high standards

- Is flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
