Junior Associate Editor, Public Policy

Role & responsibilities

1. Track the sources: follow government orders, budget documents, scheme announcements, and audit reports for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and the Union government

2. Build the fact sheet: pull the primary documents for each story and set out the numbers, dates, and eligibility rules

3. Draft scripts: write short video scripts in plain Telugu, edited by an Associate Editor or Senior Editor

4. Present: go on camera for simpler explainers first, with support from our video team.

5. Prove it: file a source list with every script

Preferred candidate profile

1. Telugu: fluent spoken and written Telugu. This is essential, wherever you studied

2. A regular, full-time degree: bachelor's or master's, from a college anywhere in India. Fresh graduates and people with up to two years of work experience are welcome

3. Preferred degrees: Political Science, Public Administration, Economics, Public Policy, or Development Studies

4. Also considered: Law, Rural Development, and Sociology

5. English reading: enough to read policy documents
