About the role

PT THUNDER SKIRT is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Barista to join our hospitality team in Bali. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to develop your barista skills in a dynamic, customer-focused environment. As a Junior Barista, you will be responsible for crafting quality beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and contributing to the welcoming atmosphere that defines our establishment. This role is perfect for someone passionate about coffee culture and eager to build a career in the hospitality and beverage industry.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, speciality coffees, and other beverages according to established recipes and quality standards
• Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other beverage equipment, ensuring they are clean and functioning properly
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service to all guests
• Maintain a clean and organised bar area, including washing cups, glasses, and other equipment in a timely manner
• Stock and monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other beverage ingredients, reporting shortages to management
• Develop knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and flavour profiles to make recommendations to customers
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately whilst maintaining attention to detail
• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver efficient service during peak periods
• Follow food and beverage safety and hygiene protocols at all times

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in a bar, café, or hospitality setting is preferred
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso machine operation, or willingness to learn and develop these skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for providing excellent customer service
• Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure during busy service periods
• Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods whilst performing repetitive tasks
• Reliability and a positive, professional attitude towards work and team collaboration
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Basic mathematics skills for handling transactions and portion control
• A genuine interest in the hospitality industry and commitment to developing your barista expertise
