Simplified Technology Solutions

Part-Time Contractor | 20 Hours/Week | Remote | Americas Preferred
Turn Curiosity Into Conversations
Do you genuinely enjoy meeting new people, learning how businesses work, and figuring out what makes them tick?
Simplified Technology Solutions is looking for a Junior Business Development Representative (BDR) to help us create new relationships and uncover new business opportunities.
You don't need previous sales experience.
We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys starting conversations, asks good questions, and gets excited about learning something new. You'll talk with business owners and decision-makers across different industries, learn about the challenges they're facing, and determine whether Simplified might be able to help.
If you're the kind of person who enjoys connecting with people and learning something from every conversation, this could be a great place to build your career in business development.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll own the beginning of the sales journey:
Find → Connect → Learn → Qualify → Schedule → Handoff
You'll research interesting companies and the people behind them, reach out through channels like email, phone, and LinkedIn, and start conversations.
Your job isn't to pressure someone into buying something. It's to be curious:
What are they trying to accomplish? What's getting in their way? Is there a real problem here that Simplified might be able to solve?
When there's a good fit, you'll schedule a Discovery Meeting with one of our Account Executives and give them the context they need to continue the conversation.
Along the way, you'll:

Learn how different businesses operate.

Meet and communicate with business owners and decision-makers.

Develop professional prospecting and communication skills.

Learn how to identify real business needs.

Experiment with messaging and learn what gets people talking.

Build confidence having conversations with people you've never met.

Learn about software, AI, automation, marketing, and the problems businesses are solving with technology.

Develop skills that can lead to more advanced Business Development and Sales roles.

Who We're Looking For
Experience isn't the most important thing to us. Potential is.
You might be a strong fit if you:

Love learning and asking questions.

Genuinely enjoy meeting and talking with new people.

Are interested in business, technology, or entrepreneurship.

Communicate clearly and confidently in English.

Aren't afraid to start a conversation with someone you don't know.

Can hear “no” and comfortably move on to the next conversation.

Are persistent without being pushy.

Enjoy figuring out why something worked—or didn't.

Take feedback well and actually apply it.

Stay organized and follow through on commitments.

Want a role where better performance creates greater responsibility and earning potential.

No previous BDR or sales experience is required.
We'll teach you our services, prospecting approach, qualification process, systems, and sales methodology. We want you to bring the curiosity and willingness to grow.
What Success Looks Like
We're not looking for someone who simply sends the most emails or makes the most calls. We want you to create real conversations and qualified opportunities.
We'll look at:

Qualified Discovery Meetings generated.

Meeting attendance.

Lead-to-meeting conversion.

Quality of your conversations and qualification.

Quality of your Account Executive handoffs.

CRM and pipeline accuracy.

Pipeline generated from your opportunities.

Revenue eventually generated from relationships you started.

Activity matters, but meaningful conversations and opportunities are the goal.
Schedule & Location

20 hours per week

Independent contractor

Fully remote

Americas preferred

Minimum 2 hours of working-time overlap with our team

Target start: within 2 weeks of selection

Compensation
On-Target Earnings (OTE): approximately $2,000/month at 20 hours/week, combining base compensation and performance-based commissions.
The base rate is $8–$12 USD/hour, with approximately $10/hour as the expected target depending on demonstrated capability, communication skills, and role fit.
In addition to base pay, you’ll earn performance-based compensation for generating qualified attended meetings and opportunities that become paying clients.
Commissions are uncapped, so strong performance can result in earnings significantly above the $2,000/month OTE.
Learn, Perform & Grow
We want this role to be a starting point, not a stopping point.
You'll work with experienced members of our Sales team, have opportunities to shadow Discovery Meetings, and learn what happens to the relationships you create after they're handed to an Account Executive.
As your skills and results grow, so can your responsibilities.
Junior BDRs can progress to Senior BDR, taking greater ownership of opportunities, handling inbound leads, becoming more involved in Discovery, and operating with greater independence.
Growth is based on what you demonstrate—not how long you've had the title.
Who We Are
Simplified Technology Solutions helps businesses solve operational challenges through custom software, automation, AI, and digital solutions.
That means our conversations can take us into all kinds of businesses and problems. One prospect might be trying to eliminate a manual process. Another might need a custom application. Another may be figuring out how AI can change the way their team works.
For someone who loves learning, there's always another business, person, or problem to discover.
Our values are EPICC:
Excellence — Take pride in doing great work and getting better at it.
Purpose-Driven — Understand why your work matters and connect it to real outcomes.
Integrity in Communication — Be honest, clear, respectful, and direct.
Curiosity for Growth — Ask questions, experiment, learn, and improve.
Community of Collaboration — Help your teammates succeed and learn from one another.
Application & Interview Process
Step 1 — Application + Introduction Video
Along with your application, submit a short video introducing yourself.
No fancy editing, equipment, or professional production is necessary. Just be yourself.
Tell us briefly:

Who you are.

Why this opportunity caught your attention.

Something you've enjoyed learning recently.

Why you enjoy—or think you would enjoy—meeting and starting conversations with new people.

Communication is central to this position, so applications without an introduction video will not move forward.
Step 2 — Recruiter Interview
If your application looks like a potential fit, you'll meet with our recruiter.
This is an opportunity for us to learn more about you—and for you to learn more about us.
We'll talk about your motivation, communication style, availability, compensation expectations, and alignment with our EPICC values.
Step 3 — Manager Interview
Candidates who advance will meet with the hiring manager.
We'll explore how you think and communicate through practical situations you might encounter as a BDR.
We're not expecting you to already know all the “right” sales answers. We want to see how you think, how you communicate, how you respond to feedback, and how willing you are to learn.
If that sounds like you, introduce yourself. We'd like to meet you.
Pay: Up to $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20.0 per week
Benefits:

Flexible schedule

Work from home
