Junior Buyer

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the day-to-day purchasing of materials, components and services to meet production requirements.
• Create and manage purchase orders using SAP Business One (SAP B1).
• Review purchasing requirements and stock levels to ensure materials are ordered in a timely manner.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations, pricing and lead times.
• Liaise with suppliers to place orders, confirm delivery dates and follow up on outstanding orders.
• Monitor supplier deliveries and proactively address any delays or shortages.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within the ERP system.
• Work closely with Production, Planning, Stores/Warehouse and Finance teams to ensure materials are available when required.
• Assist with supplier relationship management and sourcing new suppliers where required.
• Use Microsoft Excel to maintain, analyse data, track orders and prepare reports.
• Assist with identifying opportunities to improve costs, lead times and purchasing processes.
• Ensure all purchasing activities are completed accurately and in line with company procedures.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Previous purchasing, procurement or supply chain experience is desirable.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
• Experience using SAP Business One (SAP B1) or a similar ERP system.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting/filtering and data analysis.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
• Commercially aware, proactive and keen to develop a career in purchasing/procurement.
