What they need

Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000 Annually DOE

Terms: Permanent Full Time (On-Site)

While the pay range has been clearly specified, it is standard business practice at Muller Technology to start new hires at the mid-range of the salary posted in the job description. This approach not only ensures competitiveness in attracting qualified candidates but also aligns with our commitment to fair compensation practices.

About the Role: The Junior Buyer purchases catalog and standard parts, such as electrical and pneumatic components, fasteners, hardware, and MRO supplies, for production and customer projects, and handles fabricated parts under the supervision of the Technical Buyer or the Procurement Supervisor. The role covers the full order cycle with a strong focus on on-time delivery, SAP data accuracy, and proactive supplier follow-up. It is the entry level of the purchasing career path and prepares the incumbent for the Technical Buyer position.

Responsibilities:

  • Order execution: Converts requisitions and MRP requirements into purchase orders in SAP within the approved authority limit, with correct pricing, quantities, dates, and terms
  • Quotations: Issues RFQs for catalog and repeat items, compares offers on price, lead time, and terms, and recommends a supplier
  • Fabricated parts: Handles RFQs and orders for fabricated parts under the supervision of the Technical Buyer or the Procurement Supervisor, who validate supplier selection and pricing
  • Order follow-up: Obtains order acknowledgments, confirms production progress and realistic delivery dates with suppliers, and escalates at-risk orders early
  • Delay mitigation: Proposes solutions for late or short deliveries, such as accelerated production at the supplier, partial deliveries, or alternate sources
  • SAP data: Keeps order status, delivery dates, lead times, prices, and vendor data accurate in SAP
  • Internal communication: Informs production, planning, project management, and sales of material status and delays, and represents Purchasing in operational meetings
  • Supplier feedback: Records delivery and quality issues to support supplier evaluation
  • Flexibility: Supports purchasing needs across all activities, including aftermarket (spare parts, retrofits, service) and Robotics business unit projects
  • Other duties: Performs other related duties as assigned

Authority & Key Performance Indicators:

  • Purchasing authority: Up to $20,000 per order for catalog and standard parts. Fabricated parts require validation by the Technical Buyer or the Procurement Supervisor; orders above this limit, new suppliers, and non-standard terms require approval by the Procurement Supervisor
  • Key performance indicators: Supplier on-time delivery, past-due purchase orders, order acknowledgment rate, and SAP data accuracy

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or a technical field preferred
  • Experience: One to three years in purchasing, expediting, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment
  • Systems: Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, SAP Business One preferred; proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Technical understanding: Basic knowledge of industrial components and ability to read part numbers, specifications, and simple drawings
  • Organization: Ability to prioritize, accurately manage a high volume of concurrent orders, and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Communication: Clear, confident written and verbal communication; able to hold suppliers accountable while maintaining good relationships
  • Languages: English required; Spanish a plus
  • Working daily onsite at Muller Technology CO, Inc., with the expectation of no less than 40 hours worked weekly
