As a Junior C++ / PyTorch AI Framework Engineer at HCLTech, you will play a pivotal role in the development, debugging, and validation of advanced AI and deep learning software frameworks and hardware accelerators. This role offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies, contribute to industry-leading AI projects, and support the engineering teams in delivering robust and scalable AI solutions. Your contributions will enhance HCLTech’s capability to deliver innovative solutions for global clients while providing you with hands-on experience in high-impact AI development.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components utilizing C++ and Python for AI and deep learning frameworks.
• Contribute to the implementation of new features for PyTorch and related AI framework components.
• Analyze existing codebases and investigate software defects to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Implement bug fixes, code changes, and prepare code patches or snippets as required.
• Develop and execute unit and automated tests to validate software integrity.
• Perform software validation, analyze test results, and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Collaborate with hardware and test platforms, supporting integration and validation as needed.
• Document software defects, code dependencies, and maintain technical documentation.
• Adhere to established coding standards, testing protocols, and code review processes.
• Collaborate effectively with distributed and cross-functional engineering teams across locations.

Skill Requirements

Mandatory:

• Good knowledge of C++ programming.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Basic or working knowledge of Linux environments.
• Strong foundation in software development fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of machine learning and deep learning concepts.
• Familiarity with PyTorch or similar deep-learning frameworks.
• Basic understanding of software testing and debugging methodologies.
• Experience with Git or other source control systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
• Ability to work onsite in Gdańsk as required for hardware or laboratory access.

Other Requirements (Optional)

• Project experience with PyTorch development.
• Familiarity with NumPy, pytest, or similar testing tools.
• Exposure to GPU or hardware accelerator technologies.
• Knowledge of CUDA, SYCL, oneAPI, OpenCL, or related technologies.
• Experience in high performance computing (HPC) or numerical computing.
• Understanding of CMake, GDB, and debugging tools.
• Knowledge of tensors and deep learning operators.
• Experience contributing to open source projects.
