About the role

Soleum Energy Pte Ltd is seeking a Junior Cargo Trading Operator / Junior Operations Executive to join our dynamic team in the Import/Export & Customs sector. This is a full-time position based in the Downtown Core Central Region. In this role, you will support the day-to-day operations of our cargo trading business, working with international shipments, customs documentation, and logistics coordination. You will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth movement of goods across borders whilst maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in cargo operations and trading within a growing energy and logistics company.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and managing cargo documentation including bills of lading, customs declarations, and shipping paperwork
• Coordinating with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to facilitate import and export operations
• Maintaining accurate records of shipments, tracking cargo movements, and updating stakeholders on delivery status
• Assisting with customs compliance procedures and ensuring adherence to international trade regulations
• Preparing shipping manifests and verifying cargo details against purchase and sales orders
• Supporting the coordination of cargo pickups, deliveries, and warehouse logistics
• Liaising with customers and internal teams to resolve shipping issues and queries
• Contributing to the optimisation of trading operations and identifying process improvements
• Performing administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and report generation

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation and data
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with logistics software is desirable
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Basic knowledge of import/export procedures and customs regulations is advantageous
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges
• Willingness to learn and develop expertise in cargo trading and customs compliance
