Junior Civil Engineering Technologist

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an entry-level position designed for recent graduates of a Civil Engineering Technology diploma program. You will join a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects for three distinct client streams:

◼ First Nations communities across Vancouver Island and beyond, including water distribution, sanitary sewer, pump stations, and community infrastructure

◼ Municipality clients, including detailed design and construction oversight for roads, utilities, and site servicing

◼ Private developers, including land development, site servicing, and subdivision design

Your work will span design, CAD drafting, cost estimating, and construction site reviews giving you broad exposure across full project lifecycles from day one.

RESPONSIBILITIES

◼ Produce detailed engineering drawings using Civil 3D including surfaces, alignments, profiles, sections and corridors

◼ Research and apply municipal CAD standards across various jurisdictions

◼ Prepare cost estimates and quantity takeoffs

◼ Coordinate with developers, contractors, and public utilities

◼ Liaise with municipal, regional, provincial, and federal bodies as required

◼ Review construction activities and provide feedback to contractors and clients

WHAT YOU BRING

◼ Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a comparable technical credential

◼ Registration or eligibility for membership as GradTech or AScT with ASTTBC

◼ Proficiency or coursework in AutoCAD Civil 3D

◼ Attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality work

◼ Strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a team

◼ Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle
