Junior Cloud Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and technically inclined Junior Cloud Engineer to join our WSF/Cloud Services team. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with a foundation in IT who are eager to develop their skills in cloud computing, infrastructure administration, and technical support.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will assist in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure and services. Through structured training, knowledge transfer (KT), and hands-on experience, you will progressively develop the skills needed to manage routine operational tasks independently while contributing to service reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Administration: Assist in managing cloud resources across platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP, including resource creation, access reviews, billing checks, and resource scaling.
• Infrastructure Support: Assist in configuring Linux and Windows virtual machines, managing CPU and memory allocations, mounting disks, installing services, and applying patches and updates.
• Web and Server Administration: Support basic website configuration, IIS bindings, service installation, scripting, and routine Windows and Linux administration tasks.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Review dashboards, metrics, logs, and alerts to identify potential issues and perform initial troubleshooting.
• Backup and Recovery: Monitor backup status and assist with resource restoration in accordance with established procedures.
• Incident and Service Management: Handle incidents and service requests through JIRA, follow established service-level agreements (SLAs), document actions taken, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
• Root Cause Analysis: Gather technical information, investigate recurring issues, and assist in preparing root cause analysis (RCA) reports under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Infrastructure Security and Maintenance: Help maintain infrastructure security, performance, availability, and quality standards by following established procedures.
• Documentation and Time Tracking: Maintain technical documentation, record incident resolutions, and accurately track time spent on client projects in the company's ERP system.
• Customer and Team Collaboration: Communicate with customers through ticketing and escalation channels and collaborate with development, QA, security, delivery, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
• Continuous Learning: Participate in training and KT sessions, develop cloud and AI-related skills, and pursue relevant technical certifications to progressively handle assigned responsibilities independently.

Qualifications and Technical Skills

• Graduate of Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical course.
• Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, operating systems, networking, and cloud computing concepts.
• Foundational knowledge of IP addressing, DNS, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Windows or Linux environments and basic database concepts is an advantage.
• Basic scripting knowledge, particularly PowerShell or Bash, is a plus.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems, monitoring tools, or IT service management processes is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, and GCP, as well as IIS, Active Directory, and infrastructure management tools.
• Relevant internships, academic projects, personal projects, or entry-level IT support experience are welcome.
