Commerzbank is a leading international commercial bank with branches and offices in almost 50 countries. We are looking for an intern to join our Flexhub team.

Program overview:

• Duration: 9 months
• Conditions: Paid internship (full-time)

If you are:

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications , or a related technical field.
• Have strong interest in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering .
• Familiar with Cloud technologies – you have Strong understanding of cloud architectures, services, and best practices, for OpenShift,Azure, GCP and you have ability to recommend and implement CSP-independent cloud solutions.
• Familiar with Linux environments and commonly used commands.
• Familiar with Scripting / Programming – you have understanding of containers and basic familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
• Familiar with Container Technologies and Ifrastructure as Code - Initial exposure to Terraform, Ansible, Kustomize, or similar automation tools is an advantage.
• Have basic knowledge of Networking, Security and Git / Version Control
• Have good knowledge of Hybrid / Multi-Cloud, Data Base Technologies (Initial knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or cloud-hosted database services) and Agile Software Development / Scrum .
• Highly motivated to learn new things and shape your future career in IT;
• Willingness to learn new technologies and work with experienced engineers.
• An analytical mindset and enthusiasm for solving technical problems.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an international and cross-functional team.
• Good communication skills and willingness to ask questions and share ideas.
• Fluent in English.
• German would be considered as an advantage.

You will get the chance to :

• Support the development and maintenance of cloud-based platforms and infrastructure using technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), OpenShift, Kubernetes, and open-source technologies.
• Learn how cloud infrastructure is provisioned, configured, deployed, and maintained.
• Support experienced engineers in implementing and improving Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.
• Gain practical experience with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Kustomize.
• Assist application development teams with deploying and operating applications on cloud platforms.
• Support the configuration and operation of Kubernetes and container-based environments.
• Contribute to improving the developer experience by helping automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and application deployment.
• Support monitoring and operational activities for cloud environments, including basic troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Work together with development and operations teams to investigate technical issues and bugs.
• Learn and apply fundamental concepts related to cloud security, identity and access management, networking, certificates, and secrets management.
• Support the documentation of cloud infrastructure, technical processes, operational procedures, and best practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD and GitOps processes.
• Explore new cloud technologies together with experienced engineers and contribute ideas for improvements.
• Work within an agile, cross-functional team consisting of developers, business analysts, infrastructure engineers, application operations experts, and business colleagues.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies such as Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives, remotely or in person.
• Work in a real agile environment and collaborate with international teams who are friendly, supportive and open to new opinions and ideas;
• Support the teams with various tasks related to the projects;
