Junior Data & AI Engineer - Hybrid (Lisbon)

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Data & AI Engineer with strong analytical thinking and a solid academic background to join our technology team. You will work on building data pipelines, integrating AI/LLM models, creating data visualization dashboards, and optimizing information flows to support decision-making and intelligent products.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Create and optimize interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI to provide business metrics to teams.
• Implement and integrate Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models (including LLMs and RAG architectures) into production environments.
• Process, clean, and structure data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and data lakes.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.

What We Are Looking For

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field (preference for graduates from leading institutions such as Técnico, FEUP, FCT, University of Coimbra, University of Minho, Nova IMS , or equivalent international institutions).
• Experience: Approximately 1 year of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Science, or AI development.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Python and SQL .
• Experience with Power BI , including data modelling, DAX, and dashboard development.
• Familiarity with Data/AI libraries (e.g., Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn ) and modern AI frameworks and tools (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI/Anthropic APIs ).
• Knowledge of Data Engineering tools (e.g., PostgreSQL, Spark, Airflow ) or Cloud services ( AWS, GCP, or Azure ).
• Good coding practices, including version control ( Git ), testing, and basic knowledge of Docker.

Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, autonomy, curiosity about the latest developments in AI, and the ability to translate data into clear, meaningful visual insights.
