Junior Data & AI Engineer

As Junior Data & AI Engineer, you will build and operate Mikron’s enterprise data foundation and enable practical, governed AI use cases. You will create trusted data products, support controlled AI prototypes and integrate approved AI services into business platforms and workflows.

Your main responsibilities

• Build enterprise data pipelines and integrations across SAP, Workday, manufacturing, finance and operational sources.
• Support the development and maintenance of curated data models, semantic layers and reusable data products.
• Enable Power BI and self-service analytics through certified datasets and governed semantic models.
• Prepare AI-ready datasets, feature candidates, embeddings, document indexes and knowledge bases.
• Build and industrialise controlled AI and Generative AI prototypes.
• Support the integration of approved AI services into enterprise applications and business workflows.
• Apply responsible-AI, privacy, security, access-control and traceability guardrails.
• Evaluate AI outputs through quality checks, prompt and retrieval testing and business validation.
• Support S/4HANA and master-data initiatives through data quality improvements, mappings and documentation activities.

Your profile

• Degree or equivalent professional experience in IT, engineering, data, computer science or a related field.
• Up to 2 years hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics or a related technical domain.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, SQL, Spark, Power BI and Python.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, APIs, automated testing, metadata, lineage, observability and reconciliation.
• Understanding of machine learning, Generative AI, embeddings, retrieval-aware design and AI-output evaluation.
• Experience supporting controlled AI prototypes and coordinating technical stakeholders and partners.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
