Junior Design Engineer

Client Overview

We’re working with an established engineering business looking to expand its design team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to develop their technical skills, gain hands-on experience and build a long-term career within machinery design.

As a Junior Design Engineer, you’ll work alongside an experienced engineering team, supporting the design and development of bespoke machinery and mechanical equipment across the full lifecycle.

This role would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, understanding how things work and seeing their designs brought to life.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and development of machinery, equipment and mechanical assemblies.
• Assist with manufacturing drawings, layouts and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs meet project specifications and manufacturing requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing and project delivery.
• Develop your technical knowledge across the full design lifecycle.

Skill Required

• A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline.
• Some experience using SolidWorks, and a desire to learn it (inhouse training provided)
• The ability to interpret technical drawings and communicate design ideas.
• A methodical approach to problem-solving and good attention to detail.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Compensation & Other Benefits

• Salary of £28,000 – £33,000, depending on experience. (Hybrid 3&2)
