Junior Design Engineer

Des Gosling Mobility is a family run engineering business providing adaptations to vehicles for disabled and elderly drivers throughout the Midlands. As a growing business, we are currently looking to take on a junior design engineer to expand our team.

Primary Job Role:

Initially, this role will mainly be focused on information capture for vehicle specific kit designs and processing of this data within CAD and other 3D modelling software. The candidate will be supporting a small team of engineers and as such will get exposure to all different parts of the design process. This gives scope longer term to develop the role into other areas of the design engineering team depending on the individual’s skillset.

The role will also entail working alongside the manufacturing team, assisting them as needed with day-to-day production and logistics. This will serve to give a more rounded view of the business and develop an understanding of how design choices affect the production team.

Person Specification:

We are looking for an organised and thorough individual who can follow processes well to ensure repeatable outcomes. The candidate will require good interpersonal skills to work in a small design team and alongside other workshop members. The candidate should have good time management skills, as they will quickly become responsible for organising their own time within each day. Lastly, the candidate should be a keen and quick learner, who pays close attention to detail and takes pride in the work they do.

Previous Experience:

The candidate should have previous engineering experience or training along with some experience of CAD software. Applications from graduates are welcomed but a degree is not a pre-requisite for the role.

Hours: Weekdays, 8:30am – 5:30pm.

Salary: Starting from £27,000pa based on experience/qualifications.

Full UK driving licence
