Electrical & Automation Engineer (PLC / Controls)

Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical & Automation Engineer with practical knowledge of PLC programming, electrical design, industrial controls, and automation system integration. The candidate will contribute to the development, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial automation machines and material handling systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs for automation and material handling systems.
• Prepare electrical schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs using EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Select sensors, motors, drives, safety devices, and electrical components.
• Integrate robots, AMRs, conveyors, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Configure industrial networks such as PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and CAN.
• Configure servo drives, VFDs, safety PLCs, and safety relays.
• Perform or support installation, wiring verification, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer sites.
• Prepare I/O lists, functional descriptions, test reports, manuals, and related documentation.
• Coordinate with mechanical and software engineering teams for project integration.

Required Skills

• PLC programming experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, or Delta.
• Knowledge of Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block programming.
• HMI development and configuration.
• Electrical panel design, wiring practices, and electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of sensors, encoders, servo systems, VFDs, and industrial communication protocols.
• Understanding of basic machine safety systems, including emergency stops, light curtains, and safety relays.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ABB, KUKA, FANUC, or Universal Robots.
• Exposure to AS/RS, shuttle systems, and conveyor systems.
• Knowledge of SCADA.
• Basic Python or C++ for automation scripting.

Educational Qualification

B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Automation, or a relevant discipline.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel for site installation and commissioning.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
