Junior Designer

X Campers is a Dubai-based manufacturer of campervans and expedition vehicles, delivering custom-built conversions for clients across the region. We're looking for an enthusiastic Junior Designer to join our design team and grow into custom vehicle interior design under the guidance of senior designers.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Junior Designer to support the design team with layout concepts, technical drawings, and production documentation for camper van and expedition vehicle conversions. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their design career to gain hands-on experience across space planning, CAD drafting, and real production workflows, with mentorship from senior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior designers in developing interior layout concepts and floor plans
• Prepare and update technical drawings and CNC cutting files under supervision
• Support production of material lists and basic design documentation
• Help translate client requirements into simple layout options for review
• Learn and apply basic electrical and plumbing layout principles used in camper builds
• Coordinate with carpentry and production teams to understand build feasibility
• Create 3D models/visuals to help communicate design ideas to clients and the team
• Maintain organized design files and version records for ongoing projects
• Take on progressively more design responsibility as skills develop

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or related field
• 0–2 years of design experience (fresh graduates are welcome to apply)
• Working knowledge of CAD/3D software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar)
• Willingness to learn electrical and plumbing basics as applied to small-space builds
• Good attention to detail and eagerness to learn production processes
• Clear communication skills and ability to take direction well

Preferred

• Coursework or personal projects in space-constrained or small-footprint design
• Basic familiarity with Excel
• Genuine interest in camper vans, RVs, or vehicle conversions
