Junior Designer

Good design should look right, work well and survive contact with actual construction.

UODC is looking for a Junior Architectural Designer who can help turn ideas into clear, coordinated and buildable design outputs. This role is part of the Architecture Design Team and suits someone who enjoys both creative work and technical detail.

What you will do

• Create mood boards, material boards, design pegs and client presentations.
• Develop design concepts, technical drawings and 3D models.
• Prepare work using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and relevant visualization tools.
• Help ensure design outputs meet design standards, building codes and client requirements.
• Assist with site analysis, research and periodic site inspections.
• Coordinate with consultants, suppliers and vendors.
• Support material sourcing and selection for residential and commercial projects.
• Assist with clash detection and coordination with MEPFS plans.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• One to two years of experience using AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit.
• Experience in, or a strong interest in, residential and commercial projects.
• Proficiency in Lumion, Enscape or similar rendering and visualization software.
• Ability to read construction, engineering and MEPFS drawings.
• Working knowledge of building codes, construction materials, methods and building systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Canva and Adobe Photoshop.
• A licensed Architect is an advantage, but not required.
