Junior Electrical Engineer – Construction

Job Summary

Desert Group is looking for a motivated Junior Electrical Engineer with construction experience to support electrical installation, site supervision, coordination, testing, and commissioning activities across ongoing projects. The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Electrical Engineers, Project Managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure electrical works are completed according to approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising and coordinating electrical installation works at construction sites.
• Review electrical drawings, layouts, specifications, and BOQs to understand project requirements.
• Monitor electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and project specifications.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, MEP, and other project teams to resolve site-related issues.
• Assist with installation of electrical cables, conduits, wiring, distribution boards, lighting fixtures, and power systems.
• Support installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections and report progress, technical issues, and non-compliance to the Senior Engineer.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, technicians, and site supervisors to ensure smooth execution of works.
• Assist in preparing material requisitions, technical submittals, method statements, and inspection requests.
• Monitor material availability and coordinate with procurement and site teams to avoid delays.
• Maintain daily progress reports, site records, inspection reports, and other project documentation.
• Assist in identifying electrical installation defects and coordinating corrective actions.
• Ensure electrical works comply with HSE requirements and safe working procedures.
• Participate in site meetings and provide updates on work progress and outstanding activities.
• Support testing, snagging, rectification, and handover activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within construction or MEP projects.
• UAE construction experience is preferred is Mandatory
• Basic knowledge of electrical installation, power distribution, lighting, cabling, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with site inspections, material submittals, and testing and commissioning procedures.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work at construction sites and coordinate with multiple project teams.
• UAE Driving License is an advantage.
